Classroom – Lesson Two

Lesson TWO – Are You Ready?

Don’t even think about lesson two unless you know
lesson one so well I can ask;

1) What sign are you if you were born January19th?
2) Name all the fixed signs.
3) What are the three water signs?
4) How are June 5th, October 11th and February 9th Astrologically related?
5) I am mutable, I am fire, what sign am I?
6) What is my triplicity if I am born December 10th?

NOTE: The Answers to These Questions Can All be found on Lesson ONE

If it took you too long to answer or if you were completely lost,
you had better return to lesson one and put in some more time.
I left it up a goodly long time for a reason.
How I learned astrology when I was so young and learned it so well
was that for long, long periods of time I knew only a very little;
and it was all I knew but I knew it inside out.
Then I was taught some more and learned that like the back of my hand and so on.

We are learning theory here and that is not as academic,
as black and white as some would have it.
My methods are very unorthodox
but this will all come together for you at some
not too distant point in the future.

So let’s go on to more memorizing;

The Astrological “HOUSES”

Just what are they? Not made of wood and built by carpenters but
“house” is the name for a section of our solar system.
Think of it NOT in terms of the wedges you have seen in paper charts
divided into twelve sections of a circular graph,
that’s academics, and can be found in many books….
remember, what we are working on here is THEORY.

Take your mind out into the solar system.
Go high above the earth like an astronaut:
High above the solar system looking down on the planets that orbit the sun.
You up there now? O.K.

So many things in outer space are round or egg shaped.
Planets are round, solar systems are round and galaxies are round.
Round things are divided into halves called “hemispheres.”
So first we divide the circle of planets in half. We call each half a hemisphere;
like dividing the earth into east and west hemispheres.
Then we divide those hemispheres in half again the other way.
Now you have four equal sections called “quadrants.”
A galaxy is divided this way too. You Star Trek Fans out there
should be familiar with the Klingon Quadrant and the Romulan Quadrant?

Well, the solar quadrants are divided into three 30 degree sections called “houses.”
These houses are named after the constellations that appear around and above them.
As the planets travel around the sun they pass through these sections
or “houses” and create different idiosyncrasies and traits
associated with that house.

For example; MERCURY, closest planet to the sun and having the fastest orbit
rules things like; communications, transactions, how you think and communicate
with yourself and with others. Mercury in, say, Gemini on the day of a persons birth
would create a quick, witty person who has a gift of gab.
In Leo; extroverted and eloquent at expression.
Mercury in Scorpio; cool, aloof, cautious; lets you hang your butt out first!

VENUS the Love Planet; How many loves will you have?
What signs will they be? How many marriages? Partnerships?
What ARE your likes, dislikes, hates, passions, weaknesses and vulnerabilities?

SATURN the great Teacher; How do you learn your life lessons?
One good scorch and you never forget?
Or must you keep pounding your head against the same damn brick wall
a dozen times before the message sinks in?

Each of the planets and the signs they are in tell us things about ourselves,
the mood of the day and what to expect out of a future transit
when that planet next passes through each sign.

So time to start memorizing. Remember each house rules dozens of things.
I am going to give you the most important or outstanding
things associated with that house for our theory purposes.

FIRST House; ARIES…..

Beginnings, the self, the internal self, the physical
structure of the body and its well being.
It is the passage way between your external person and your internal person;
and do remember the door swings both ways.

SECOND House; TAURUS……..

Material possessions, wealth, property, land,
resources of all kinds real and metaphoric and how you tap into them and
money in all forms.

THIRD House; GEMINI…..

Communications, brothers and sisters, workings of the mind,
short trips and interactions with nuclear units; family units, neighbors,
work groups, cliques, etc.

FOURTH House; CANCER……

Home [both the structure and the embodiment],
family and the later years of the life. It is good to remember,
as so many astrologers overlook this resource in their predicting,
that the fourth house reveals just what the structure of the later years
of what a person will be like.

FIFTH House; LEO…..

Love, marriage, parenting and entertainment.

SIXTH House; VIRGO…..

Work, service and health.

SEVENTH House; LIBRA…..

Partnerships of all kinds be they romantic,
business, friendship or any combination.

EIGHTH House;….SCORPIO……

Death, inheritance, taxes and insurance,
and the regeneration of life.

NINTH House; SAGITTARIUS;…..

Religious beliefs, moral convictions, metaphysics,
educational institutions and the higher self.

TENTH House; CAPRICORN…..

Careers, politics, ambitions and the political
structure of any group, company or corporation.

ELEVENTH House; AQUARIUS…..

Friends, inventions, antiquities, original thought,
problem solving and creativity.

TWELFTH House; PISCES…..

Endings, the subconscious mind, dreams, underhanded activities,
things unseen or overlooked, the underworld and drugs be they prescription, social or street.
